Tower Runs Building Fire
Shortly after 1:30 on Valentine's Day, 2005, Tower 10 ran as the first due tower on a working building fire in the 800 block of Fifth Street in the city of Laurel. The tower, the first arriving unit, reported smoke showing. Shortly after the tower's arrival, Battalion Chief 6 (acting battalion chief Leroy Smith) echoed the tower's status, advising heavy smoke showing from the cockloft and quickly ordered a fire task force.
Tower 10's crew cut a 4' by 4' ventilation hole in the roof, as well as preforming other special service duties.
